Getaway To Nowhere

A friend asked me recently, “Which place would you love to get away to?”

I gave it a thought and took a long pause before answering.

Finally, instead of saying my answer out loud, I wrote it on a piece of paper: “Nowhere.”

She was perplexed and thought I was joking, but I guess the seriousness on my face made her know I wasn’t kidding. Still confused, she asked, “Nowhere?!”

“Sahas, you don’t want to go anywhere on a getaway vacation?”

“Perception, my friend,” I replied.

Now, she was super uncertain, what the hell was this guy even saying? 🤯

I explained, “When I wrote “Nowhere on a piece of paper, you thought I didn’t want to go anywhere. On the contrary, what I actually meant was “now-here”, not “no-where.”
“I do not want to be at any place without being present and in the moment. Reality is now. It’s here. Why do I want a get away from it?”

You guessed right! She did a facepalm and went away. 🙈
